Data is the backbone of any enterprise solution and hence must be accurate.
It is easier for an engineer to create a new part rather than reuse an existing part - because, ERP systems do not contain technical, parametric data that would enable him/her to do so effectively.
Part Numbers proliferate very quickly as a result of mergers and acquisitions and lack of disciple in Design Engineering processes.
Companies may use sophisticated ETL tools to effectively integrate data from multiple systems and platforms but that does not improve the underlying quality (integrity) of the data.

Our team of U.S. based consultants and Project Managers and our offshore technical resources have a combined industry experience of over 70 years and have processed a total of over 10 million SKU's in various capacities. We have developed a proven process for catalog development of both direct and indirect (MRO) items for different industries.
